About this user
1999
The band was founded by Dextro, Des Demonia and Rimsbold. In the beginning it was just for fun in order to celebrate the 60th birthday of Des Demonia´s mother in medieval style on a castle. The squire of Satzvey heard the music and asked them to play at a banquett in his castle. Schelmish went down well and had a lot of fun, so they decided to go on with this kind of music.
2000
First bookments on Satzvey Castle and on other medieval markets. Buchanan, the only bagpiper left the band by the end of 2000, Rimsbold and Dextro picked up the pipes.
2001
More bookments and the first for Schelmish to play abroad, in this case in Italy. Fragor joined the band, thus Schelmish could incorporate a big medieval drumset into the band. By the end of the year Bajonne, Morbius and Balitur left the band, since they were offered good jobs.
2002
Amsel von Nydeggen, a great German female pipe player joined the band. This year brought more bookments and it was the first time for Schelmish playing support for In Extremo and for Schandmaul. Schelmish decided to acquire own technical equipment for concerts. Own clubtour in November 2002 and another gig in a foreign country, this time Switzerland. Schelmish started writing their own tunes. Baccata dropped out the band, because his wife had a baby.
2003
First festival for Schelmish: WGT in Leipzig and a longer club tour in October. Next foreign countries, in this case Denmark and The Netherlands. Lots of medieval markets everywhere in Germany. Schelmish got their first label deal with Curzweyhl and a little weird man called Luzi joined the band.
2004
The tour calendar was galore, plenty medieval markets, a club tour of 18 days in October, lots of amplified concerts and four festivals: Burgfolk, WGT, Celtic Rock Festival, and Miroque Festival. Few gigs in foreign countries, Denmark, The Netherlands (support for Fiddlers Green), Switzerland, and for the first time England. By the end of 2004 Amsel had to quit the band, because she was burnt out.
2005
Festivals, medieval markets, concerts, the calendar was packed. Schelmish played in England more often and druids invited them into the Henge. In August Schelmish decided to start with rock medieval music as well and they searched a bass player. The first rehearsal with Naj O on the bass started in September while Rimsbold and Dextro wrote their own songs in German. Naj O declared he would be a guest musician only for a while, since he is working as a professional backliner.
