Name: Serge
I'm a U.S. and Russian citizen living in the Great city of New York for 19 years. I'm Russian, Ukrainian and Ossetian decent. I have a beautiful and caring son, also a U.S. and Russian citizen, who was also deeply touched by the events in South Ossetia in august 2008. He is helping me run our myspace page: www.myspace.com/moscownewyork that has been converted to a peace action page since the beginning of the Georgian dictator aggression against peopel of South Ossetia on August 8th, 2008. I have never been involved in any political action before, but in August 2008 I dropped all pleasures of life for a few months, practically took off from work and havent been sleeping normal hours since I saw the terrible crimes against the small ethnic group in South Ossetia. Also, after some statements by hardliners in the Bush's government and in corporate Western media asking to punish Russia for its role in stopping slaughter of Ossetians in South Ossetia, I became very worried that this conflict could bring the world to WW3, which could be the end to the human existence if nuclear weapons will be used. I'm a new yorker who's really upset with what 8 years of Bush/Cheney did to our country. This is not the America I was believe in. We became that "evil empire" we once defended the world against, and on top of that, they caused an economic collapse on par with the Great depression. It's going to take a generation to repair their damage.
In my regular life, I really enjoy going to the opera, symphonies, dramas, some musicals and to New York museums.
I love to help my family, friends and people in general. I believe that Good will always defeats Evil, but we good-natured people have to fight for that.
Help to save South Ossetian people from possible future acts of Genocide by Georgian fascist president Saakashvili. Support the independence from Georgia where the tiny republic (that was a separate subject of the Russian Empire before the October revolution.) was divided in the half and South part of Ossetia was forced to become autonomous province of Georgian Soviet Socialistic Republic by the former Soviet dictator from Georgia - Joseph Stalin.
Interests
TO THE MEMBER STATES OF THE UNITED NATIONS Please take a stand against brutal Georgian aggression against innocent people of South Ossetia and join the recognition of the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia In August September 2008 we were trying to bring attention to the plight of the South Ossetian people who recently suffered from the inhuman aggression of the Georgian regime. Few of us were standing there, at times, against hundreds of Saakashvili's well organized and antagonistic Nazi-like supporters who have been trying for weeks to scare us away. They would do this because I and my supporters have a different point of view on the tragic events in the South Ossetia conflict. But I, US citizen, refused to be forced out through their intimidation tactics and violent actions because I strongly believe my point of view is accurate. I'm absolutely sure that the South Ossetian people's cause is just and the Georgian aggression against innocent civilians was EVIL. The aggression launched by the current Georgian regime and its puppeteers is marked by extraordinary cruelty and cynical lies. The Ossetians are a very small ethnic group, about 50,000, of the 72,000 total population of South Ossetia. They are a MINORITY when compared to the 5 million Georgians in Georgia proper. Here, in the U.S. 50,000 Georgians live in the Tri-State area alone. This proportion makes it very hard for me to be heard when speaking out for this VERY SMALL ETHNIC GROUP THAT WAS ALMOST KILLED OR EXPELLED ALTOGETHER from their historic territories in the now independent Republic of South Ossetia. This may be the reason why my message has been ignored for so long by the biased Western media. I feel that CNN and other mainstream media has DISCRIMINATED against the South Ossetias people's cause by providing full coverage to the Georgian dictator and his supporters at the UN Plaza without a contrasting viewpoint. During the conflict and after the official representatives of the South Ossetia and Abkhazia are not allowed to speak about their very small nations plight at the UN Security Council - this kind of DELIBERATE DISCRIMINATION by some veto holding UN Security Council member states is against the basic democratic principals. Please don't let the South Ossetian nation fall back into the hands of the Georgian Dictator Saakashvili. Help prevent Saakashvili from obtaining more arms to renew further acts of GENOCIDE that the people of South Ossetia have experienced since the advent of another Georgian born dictator, Stalin. Russia saved the people of South Ossetia from being wiped out from their lands by Georgia's insane dictator. Many Russian soldiers have died helping the Ossetians to survive. Without them there would be no Ossetians in South Ossetia today. The truth already came out about Saakashvili's crimes. The Russians are vindicated and many Western leaders regret their earlier condemnations of Russia's peacekeeping response.
