It's really awkward listening to Holdsworth these days. I almost find his playing hostile to other artists' music. In other words, you can't just throw him in any environment and expect chemistry to happen.

Love his own material tho. He's bloody good but parochial.

Ultimately, I can never take metal seriously, it's just a bunch of grown-up teenagers rebelling crudely against the establishment.

Not saying I don't enjoy the music on occasion but the message and brand is too bombastic and simple to take seriously.

Metal must remain the underdog. You see them despise glam metal, yet they decry not winning a Grammy. What gives? Metal is anathema to the the Grammys.

Ultimately, Metallica turned into the princesses they once spoke out against so I don't believe in nufin any more.
