The dog is leashed for safety. He's not being forced to do anything and he clearly is not overdoing it. It keeps him on track and prevents him from wandering off. Lots of people seem to think the leash means he's being forced to do this - if you look at how he's walking, it's very casual and he looks like he enjoys it. Treadmill use is common for dogs of all breeds - in bad weather, if the owner can't meet their exercise needs, go get them back into shape, etc.

How abusive to order a dog to lie down while a toddler jumps on it, but also child endangerment. The adults present are so clueless in warning signs that they don't seem to have a clue how much danger this toddler was in. Thank goodness the dog tolerated this - obviously, solid temperament, but even a sound dog can crack in a situation like this. The only positive about this video is that I'll be using it as an example of how adults cause bites to kids in bite prevention classes from now on.

Let me get this right - some jackarse intentionally provokes a dog to react by challenging it and pushing themselves into it's food, then punches the dog in the throat...and the DOG needs a consequence? Good job not resorting to name calling, you are as misguided as the TV trainer who got himself bit, and calling other people names in such a clear cut situation isn't gonna make them look bad...

This is not really much other than a gong show orchestrated by someone with little understanding of dog behaviour and no understand of how to handle dog aggression. Running around hitting, manhandling and scolding dogs is a pretty poor way of handing incidents. More importantly, most trainers work to PREVENT fights, not set a dog up to fight so you can hit it for fighting. Children running around during this out of control dog show. Use a professional trainer. A TV show is not a credential.

There are options other than self-taught, self-certified "behaviourists" who shun learning theory and the study of animal behaviour. If a child needed to see a psychologist, people might think twice about someone who didn't study psychology, but said they went to playgrounds and watched kids, and figured it out. Especially if he believed things that experts all say are incorrect, and did things that these same experts all agree are dated, ineffective and cruel. A TV show isn't a credential.

YouTube Search "Brad Pattison Street Safety Toronto" series for footage of him hitting dogs. He hits hard and in the face. The dogs hit are in some cases, not doing anything at all to warrant punishment. He also hangs a dog several times by a choke chain on camera in front of the crowd and also loses his temper with a human. If this is the best he can keep control with people watching him and cameras rolling, I do not want to know what happens when he gets agitated and noone's around.

From a dog trainer with a love of freestyle - this is the BEST video ever!! A freestyle routine this long with this many people and dogs would be tough for someone who trains dogs for a living! Huge fan now, love the song too! Beautiful work by all involved! :)
