Salvador Torre is a composer, flute concert performer and professor. He graduated from the National Music Conservatory in Mexico. As teachers in composition he had Mario Lavista and Daniel Catán. In flute his teachers were Gildardo Mojíca and Alain Marión. He graduated with the highest grades in composition, flute and chamber music.

With a scholarship from the French Government, he continued his studies in Paris. During six years he worked next to very well known teachers and masters in Composition like Betsy Jolas, Yosihisa Taïra, Michel Zbar and Sergio Ortega. In flute, he worked with Pierre-Yves Artaud and Auréle Nicolet. He got a First price in Composition, first price in flute by unanimity, a diploma for Electro-acoustic music composition. He completed a postgraduate course on instrumental pedagogy. He also participated in the activities at the "IRCAM" (Acoustical and Musical Research Institute, Paris).

The works of Salvador Torre have been premiered in Paris (Georges Pompidou Center), Germany (Darmstadt Festival), Canada, Japan, Holland, Slovenia, Chile, Mexico (Cervantino Festival and Manuel Enriquez International New Music Forum ) These works have already been recorded in six CD's.

Salvador Torre as represent Mexico at UNESCO International Rostrum of Composer in Amsterdam 2000, at the well known festival "World music Days" in Japan 2001 and in Slovenia 2005.

In 2003 the French Flute Orchestra premiered his work "Sikuriada" in Cortot Hall in Paris.

He is a Professor at the National Music Conservatory in Mexico and also a member of prestigious National Creators of Art System
