Salvatore Barile, è nato a Parigi da genitori di Ruvo di Puglia dove ritorna all'età di circa sei anni. Qui, mentre frequentava i corsi di studi elementari e secondari, segue il triennale "Corso di Orientamento Musicale" organizzato dalla regione e gestito dal cieco Maestro Michele Cantatore, laureandosi nel maggio 1975, inizia all'età di tredici anni, lo studio del Trombone con il Maestro Basilio Giandonato presso la locale Scuola di Musical Hall. Nel 1980, consegue la maturità tecnica, mentre nel frattempo ha continuato i suoi studi musicali presso il Conservatorio "N. Piccinni" di Bari, dove si è laureato in trombone con il Maestro Michele Valerio in 1983. nel 1998, pur continuando l'attività di insegnante, ha iniziato nel 1981, la collaborazione con gruppi di musica da camera. Nel 2000 il suo lavoro come insegnante e musicista sembra destinato a una conclusione tragica, e la sospensione a causa di un tumore che colpisce le corde vocali . La tenacia, la forza di volontà, la voglia di vivere, la passione per la musica e l'insegnamento in un primo momento gli consentono di riprendere l'insegnamento, e nel gennaio 2001, con cautela, di riprendere a suonare dopo aver subito un intervento chirurgico per l'innesto di una protesi fonatoria.
