Paul Dean and Quintin Smith are video game journalists, but when they cut and run from that virtual world at the end of the working day, they like to relax with something more tactile and tangible. Something that'll let them nudge tiny plastic men around and scowl at real-life humans across a table.

They believe that boardgame journalism should be as surprising, heartfelt and raw as the hobby itself. As anyone who's ever played a particularly tense hand of poker will know, there's a tender, emotional core to this hobby. A core they would like to expose like a couple of amateur surgeons performing unsupervised open heart surgery.
