Simply Red's version showed respect for the first version and the composer's intent. It works for that reason.

How many were moved to a love of this composer simply by hearing this one simple piece, in this movie (not entirely factual for biographics). Better to take license and put a man's achievements in context for we common folk, than to be correct and have no common appeal.

Listen to a lyric that isn't "looped" to death. A piece of music that lasts longer than two minutes and is sung in a sincerely heartfelt manner by someone that feels what is written for her. She never sold out to cheap theatrical affectations or schlock music. Tanya, you're a treasure.

This is without a doubt her best piece of music.

I love her TV show, though and she's a wonderful person.

There is a video to this that is perfect to a tee, but I haven't seen it but once since one day in Des Moines when it caught my eye and introduced me to Skip Ewing.
