I dont appreciate the Idiots who assume the name SSminky is related to the history I research!
SSminky is a Steam Ship from a childrens book chosen by my niece for me! As in the SSpresident Steam Ship etc!
Im Half German and PROUD of my Heritage, proud my Grandfather was SS fighting all over the world and my other British Grandfather fought in India and Africa! This does not make me a Nazi! But by calling me one makes you racist!
Words are like stones! Once launched they are impossible to take back!
"If war and peace could be decided by the front line soldier, wars would be few and far between, and peace would be just. He knows the horrors of war and gives credit to his adversaries' efforts and accomplishments."
- Col. Y. A. Järvinen
As we have the freedom and the ability to access more and more information today, people should not make the same ignorant resonating noises as their old uninformed elders did in the past. We should have evolved enought to be able to think for ourselves and make our own conclusions and decisions regarding subjects we find interesting. To comment on a subject you are giving your opinion derived from your knowledge of that subject. This also refelects not only part of your character, but your level of intelligence and how you wish others to percieve you.
By saying nothing you are safe from them that feel qualified to judge us all.
By venting hate and verbal abuse to each other shows anger fed by ignorance and underlying inadequecies.
MY THOUGHTS!
Any serving member of any Military force that is prepared to point a rifle, targeting sight, a pistol or knife or any weapon must be prepaird to use it. To defend them selves, or their comrades or civilians.
The result, if its either death or wounding carrys a personal burdon of: was it right in their own minds or was it right to follow the orders. Every person is responsible to a degree for their actions in war. But all the issues must be considered before making conclusions or final decisions as to where blame can be laid.
Is the regime that controles a country so evil that the family at home is the ransome to ensure loyalty in battle from its fighting men??? Every person who has fired a weapon in anger in war has their own conscience to live with wether they killed a person or maimed them. At that moment in time it may have been nescessary, living with the memory is the individuals burdon.
Does this still apply today? When a soldier under orders kills a hostile is his family the ransome back home?Does he have a conscience? Is he fighting for the freedome of his country ?Or the political leaders that sent his unit to war? Was he just following orders to the letter?
How much is his responsibility and his decision at that moment in time?
To not follow orders usually means a charge, a bad career move or the death or his comerades or him self? This is the decision he makes in a split second, he doesnt have time to think I need time to make a decision, consider all the issues and the outcome in 10years time! Will I be called a war criminal and face prosecution when this is over?
He is trained to do his job, he asseses the situation around him and reacts in a split second! To me this is how all trained soldiers would react past and pressent, they havent time to consider all the consequences if its a wrong decision. The here and now is the difference between thier life and their death.
I have done the training and served 10 years with the Army. Would I defend my self? Yes. Would I worry about when it was over? No. Would I die for my Family to be free? Yes. Would I die for my Country? Yes (Id rather not, but fight to survive for as long as I could!) Would I die for my political leaders? I swore my alliegence to Queen and country, I would rather survive! Then vote them out! The answer is a un willing yes I took a oath! If I was given a choice to fight or stay in my country and do nothing I would choose to fight!
