@daydreamer82, If you want to do a little bit of everything. Lightwave is designed for generalist, but at the end of the day, they can all do what you want. I've used Maya and 3D Max extensively in the past and they all have their strength and weakness.

@skyraptor I would go with something that is 1 step below top of the line. Just because it's cost too much to get the latest. I would probably stick with an Intel System with a Nvidia graphics card and at least 8 Gigs of RAM. In terms of software, I think you will find that you will get great...
