Well, this was probably the most energetic period of Kerry's Elphaba when she was principle. It shows in the movement. The vocals were actually poor for her standard, but the energy of the motion was just so good.

@sarahgfan24 This portion of Wicked doesn't use Kristin's opera training; she sings using her musical theatre voice, which is why there's a lot of squeak. No One Mourns The Wicked shows off her classical voice.

Now I know why she sings the way she does. Her tongue has SO much tension in it! That last note, you can see her tongue is out of shape. Sometimes, people are taught that you can use the tongue to control tone (especially classical baritones and contraltos), but a free tongue could give her voice...
