The Smoky Mountain Brass Band is a British style brass band. It was formed in 1981 and draws it's membership from throughout Western North Carolina. The members represent a number of professions and share a common passion of performing music in a dynamic ensemble.

They are true amateur musicians in the sense that no one in the band earns his/her livelihood first and foremost as a performer.
