About this user
In 2004, a group of Toronto-area health care organizations created a partnership to consolidate information management and technology (IM/IT) services. By 2009, Shared Information Management Services (SIMS) had grown from two partners to 17, spanning the acute, rehabilitation, complex continuing, long-term and community care sectors. In 2010, member CEOs evolved the governance structure to a more formal association model and a new name, the GTA Health Information Collaborative. A sub-set of the group that shares IM/IT resources and is led by an integrated Chief Information Officer continues under the SIMS Partnership name.
