The mission of Manilatown Heritage Foundation (MHF) is to promote social and economic justice for Filipinos in America by preserving our history, advocating for equal access, and advancing our arts and culture.
Founded in 1994, and incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in 1998, MHF's programming is designed to engage immigrant and American-born Filipino youth, young adults and the tenant senior community residing at the new International Hotel (I-Hotel) in San Francisco. Other immigrant communities, especially those of Asian/Pacific Islander descent are also targeted; the higher education community and scholar-researchers are a particular priority as well. While emphasis will be on these core audiences, MHF will be accessible to all communities and its programming will be designed to generate interest and participation that is representative of the residents of the larger Bay Area and California.
