The mission of SEOC is: 1. to inform and organize public school parents in Abbott districts 2. to organize parents to be heard in effective ways 3. to ensure that parents contribute to educational improvements benefiting all children equitably at the school, school district, and state levels. 4. to build parent power as one of the most important elements in sustainable educational reform in New Jersey. 5. To use direct action organizing to win results for our children -- engaging parents directly affected by Abbott reforms, encouraging parents to define and select issues, and assisting parents to develop effective strategies and to take action to have their issues resolved. 6. To form strong, independent district-wide organizations, and bring those parent leaders together for common action on statewide education policies and programs.
