Since 1989, SEARCH Homeless Services has addressed the complicated challenges presented by individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the Greater Houston area. Skilled staff guide clients through transformative learning; they motivate and build confidence so that our clients have the ability to rebuild their lives. Through services that engage, stabilize, educate, employ, and house, our efforts reach beyond meeting basic needs to ensure individuals increase their income and achieve long term stability. To meet their goals, many clients require long-term support and a combination of housing, case management, and mental and physical health care, all of which they can access through SEARCH and its partner agencies. SEARCH professionals "meet people where they are;" we encourage them to take steps toward success without rigid rules or judgment. This non-confrontational counseling approach demonstrates respect for the individual and attempts to increase awareness of behavior by helping clients think differently about their actions and consider what can be gained through change. SEARCH serves the community through five primary program areas: Engage, Stabilize, Education, Employ and House.
