Scottish Chamber Orchestra

The Scottish Chamber Orchestra (SCO) is one of Scotland's five National Performing Arts Companies and is internationally recognised as one of the finest chamber orchestras in the world. The SCO performs throughout Scotland, with annual tours of the Scottish Highlands and Islands and South of Scotland augmenting its Concert Seasons in the main cities. It appears regularly at the Edinburgh, East Neuk, St Magnus and Aldeburgh Festivals and at the BBC Proms. The SCO has an impressive discography with a number of significant award-winning recordings, including a disc of Mozart's last four symphonies conducted by the late Sir Charles Mackerras which was a winner at the Midem, BRIT and BBC Music Magazine Awards. The Orchestra's busy international touring schedule is supported by the Scottish Government and has recently included many European countries, the USA and a ground-breaking tour of India in 2009 -- the first multi-date tour of the country by a western orchestra
