Clarkston SCAMP is a non-profit organization that provides summer day camp to over 200 children and young adults with a wide range of special needs. It was established over 35 years ago and continues to fill a five-week program with games, music, art and motor skill practice. Fundraisers held throughout the year help supplement the cost of the program. Special needs represented at the camp include autism spectrum disorders, physical disabilities and cognitive or emotional impairment. There are over 50 young adults who volunteer at the camp in addition to trained staff to ensure that SCAMPers from all over southeastern Michigan have a fun and memorable experience.
