My Hair Journey Thus Far...
After being natural for two years (2007-2009) I took life's frustrations out on my hair and relaxed in July 2009. For me personally this last relaxer experience was like the scene in the Matrix where Neo finally "saw" the matrix (the green binary digits). As my hair literally dissolved from it's voluminous natural state to NOTHINGNESS I knew relaxers were not for me. Also my scalp felt irritated a good few days afterwards...a sensation I remembered but never thought was abnormal in the past. In most cases I see the use of relaxers as activity where someone doesn't know any better but now since I've been natural for two years I KNOW BETTER!!!
Ultimately I miss my afro textured hair and want a head of long healthy hair and the relaxer is not going to assist me in reaching that outcome, so I'm here restarting my natural journey!
Post Relaxer
Sooo... after relaxer-gate, I BC'd in September '09 but wore my hair short and texturised for a few months. My last trip to the barber shop was the end of January 2010 but I didn't stop texturising until approximately April/May 2010. So I have been chemical free since around April/May 2010 and the second journey has been easier as I have been cheating with half wigs. I decided to leave the wigs alone and started fighting my hair to achieve ponytail styles (fighting as my hair wasn't long enough) as a result the pulling and use of *hardening* gels caused my hair to break (which I deserved because I ignored the warning issued by Hair Crush, one of my natural hair inspirations). So I'm back to wearing half wigs until I achieve shoulder length (unstretched)

Build up encouragement in your heart that you can store so God can bring it to your mind when you need it most. If the economy goes into a recession and you suffer a loss, you will have things stored up that you can draw on when you need to. Encouragement is like free checks that you can cash in anytime you want. You could either have a journal, scrapbook, binder, or something you can look at and remember when you need that extra boost of encouragement. You never know when catastrophes might strike next. People's lives are constantly being uprooted by family problems, weather disasters, you name it. The reason why it is important to have encouragement that you can live off of until you fill your love tank again.

oh, I'm re-editing it, lol. Idk why I never thought to add cilantro to my hummus. I was eating it like an hour ago lol. I have to try that since I put it beans/stews anyway. I will try to have it finished by the weekend, thanks :)
