About Me:

Ryszard Sygitowicz(Sygit)- one of the best Polish guitarists, composer, music arranger and multiinstrumentalist. He was born in 1953 and started playing violin in music school as a child. He often retuned his violin and tried playing it like a guitar. After some time he dropped violin and started intensively practicing guitar. His early influences were Englishmen: Alvin Lee from Ten Years After and Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple. His next fascination was for John Mc Laughlin and he was also influenced by the genius of Jimi Hendrix. He studied note-for-note many solos by Jimi Hendrix, Larry Carlton, Al Di Meola, George Benson and other top guitarists. In his opinion, learning solos and studying techniques is good practise and experience for any guitarists.In the '70s was noticed by Polish stars and invited to many recording sessions. He cooperated with the best polish singers and groups. By the early '80s Sygit had joined the family of the best Polish guitarists. He joined one of the most popular groups of the time -Perfect. Ryszard recorded, playing with great taste and invention on what's now considered a classic of Polish rock. After many tours and being surrounded by too many people, he quit the band and started writing for known singers. In 1985 released his first solo album ''Bez grawitacji''(meaning ''Without Gravitation''). He played all electric and acoustic guitars, as well as bass, keyboards and guitar synth. The same year other musicians voted Ryszard Sygitowicz Poland's best guitarists in Poland. He recorded and playing with many popular polish singer like Czeslaw Niemen, Maryla Rodowicz, Krzysztof Krawczyk, Natalia Kukulska, Kasia Kowalska and others. (fragmenty magazynu Guitar Player)
