Well, not all of the even ST movies are good. The Undiscovered Country, while having great ideas, felt poorly executed. The dialogue was choppy and corny at times, plus, it had Kurtwood Smith (badass in Robocop, That 70s show) looking like a creampuff marshmellow.

They was plenty of great things about this movie, but Heath Ledger is the one that stands out the most. Nolan took the comic book genre and transcended it into a modern day crime novel in comparison with Heat, No Country for Old Men, and The Silence of the Lambs.

Here's an interesting idea:

At 1:52, mute the volume and play 'Midnight the Stars and You' in the background. Its how I think Kubrick envisioned the "happy" ending.
