Some of you may be wondering - what exactly is Ryan & Drew, and when can we expect to see more?
Ryan & Drew is a "web series," meaning that it's just like a television series except it is aired online instead of a network. Since it's online it's also a lot shorter - typically 4 to 10 minutes long. The concept was created by Matthew Eidenbock and Daniel Rojas, two student film makers under the franchised name "Wolfgang Entertainment." Due to limited resources as starving college students, the two film makers have associated themselves with "Rooted Productions" and "Arizona Virtual Studios." www.rooted-productions.com
The series has been in the creative pre-production phase for close to a year, and now that production gear is assembled, Ryan & Drew is scheduled for two seasons - each season containing approximately 15-20 videos. There is a team of four writers - all students - there are several directors both student and professional, and there is a large cast of 20+ characters still being auditioned for. Actors and crew from all around Arizona are assembling for the project, and there are even a few submissions from Los Angeles. This is truly a "home grown" web series, and we're excited to be working with so many talented people here in Phoenix, Arizona.
If you would like to be a part of the production of this series, please send a message to this youtube account including your personal email and we will talk business. Otherwise, please show your support for Arizona film-making and spread the word about Ryan & Drew! How can you help? Well, for starters, subscribe to this channel, and then tell your other friends to look us up!
Sounds great, but what exactly is Ryan & Drew about?
Ryan & Drew are two characters with a little more mystery about them than the pilot episode leads on. They are Arizona natives who left town for two years, and now they are back seeking refuge. They quickly move into a forsaken house due to its dirt cheap rates, and this odd house attracts many other colorful characters. The series happens in three different time lines during the first season - present day, just post high school, and during their stay out of state. After watching several episodes and piecing together the different flashbacks the audience will learn more about these characters and their unusual lives. Be prepared for a lot of dark humor, wit, and a little bit of the fantastic. If you like philosophy, comedy, murder, romance, B-movies, cult classics, silliness, seriousness, the morbid, the unique, the neurotic, and every now and then... the offensive - then this series is for you.
The pilot episode, "Moving In," is now available. Stay tuned for episode 2, "Remote Control," introducing Drew's sister Mary, which should be up in two weeks. Then, in about a week's time later, be prepared for "A New Arrival." A fourth roommate will be joining the show!
