I eat, sleep, work a day job just like most Americans, just so I can get by in life and do fun things with it. And when I don't work and the weather's right...I like to storm chase across the midwest. And if it weren't for the day job, I wouldn't have the resourses to chase storms in my free time.

WARNING: The following videos on this website, rather they were shot by me or by other storm chasers, are real. STORM CHASING IS A VERY DANGEROUS AND RISKY FEAT, IF NOT LIFE THREATENING, AND ISN'T FOR EVERYONE.

If you have any interest in wanting to be a storm chaser, my advice to you is to get educated on thunderstorms by reading up and studying thunderstorm formation, behavior, and patterns. AS A STRONG RECOMMENDATION, TAKE PART IN A STORM SPOTTERS COURSE PUT ON BY YOUR LOCAL NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE, and if possible take the course every year to keep this knowledge fresh in your mind.

If you decide chasing is for you, here's a few simple tips to reduce your chances of causing harm to you and others
1) Know your geography of the area you're chasing and have a map handy to guide you.
2) Tune into a local radio station that covers severe weather in the area you're chasing and/or have a NOAA weather radio on hand to get get information on severe weather warnings, storm movement & direction, and storm damage within the chase area.
3) Have access to a weather radar, rather it's off a cell phone or laptop computer.
4) Keep your eyes on and obey the rules of the road as...just because you're storm chasing doesn't give you the right to break the law and potentially harm someone in the process.
5) If you come across floodwaters on the road, no matter the depth, never cross it...TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN!

If you decide to chase, you're liable for your actions, and it can be life or death, so choose wisely!
