Yes, it was fast, but his musicality really shone through. Some foretaste of his later pleasure in Jazz. He doesn't play any jazz, but there was that 'jamming' sensation that I found very attractive.

I can relate to that. I've been bored with oversentimental versions, Maybe I need to listen to a lot more. I'd agree that the organ accompaniment is a bit over the top. Not sure why they say it is old French. The French got it from Trebizond I'd have thought.
