Am I the only asshole that never paid much attention to the drum tracks in DT. I mean if you asked me I wouldn't be able to tell they had a new drummer.

This would have fit in on Ascendancy. So would have Forsake Not The Dream or Of All These Yesterdays. Those are the only epic songs. There are a few okay songs, then the rest just sound mainstream. I'm sure they'll learn from their mistakes and work on more complex music again.
