Shooting the AR-15, the M1-A, & the SKS at thick steel: a close-up perspective. Shots were taken from behind a large tree at approximately 40 yards. Guns used: Russian SKS, Colt AR-15 A2, Springfield M1-A Disclaimer: Lots of discussion about 5.56 vs .223 and 7.62 X 51 vs .308. The guns you see me use in this video will fire either one safely, so no issue for me. Never HAS been. Be sure you do your research and shoot what your guns will handle. I have to explain this about once a week, it seems; most people have limited experience shooting 7.62X39 rounds at steel, which is understandable, of course. :-)
I've shot both hollow point and FMJ 7.62X39 at soft steel for many years. The FMJ and the hollow point have pretty much the exact same effect on it. HPs are not exactly designed to expand in steel. :-) See my folllow-up video that I finally did all these months later: http://www.youtub...

On December 30th, 2010, The Slingshot Channel presented a functional "desktop size" slingshot cannon. It fires 8 mm steel balls.
Finally, the model was turned into reality! 10 times bigger than the model, it fires 80 mm steel balls now... with impressive force.
The huge amount of rubber (6 full Thera Band Gold stripes per side, 72 times stronger than "hunterbands" for conventional slingshots) propels a steel boule/petanque ball fast enough so it flies 200 meters (220 yards).
See how it smashes beer barrels and even a car... lots of slow motion is included.
The winch allows insane draw weights. Here, more than 200 kg was employed. In combination with the "barrel length" of 3 meters (10 ft), it achieves firearm like energy levels and the momentum of a giant sledge hammer.
This may be the strongest rubber based weapon presented on youtube ever.!
A "The Slingshot Channel" production.

The controlled study documented in these videos show that concealed carry permit holders are fooling themselves if they think they will be able to react effectively to armed aggressors. Most CCW holders won't even be able to un-holster their gun. They will more likely be killed themselves or kill innocent bystanders than stop the aggressor. For more details, see "Unintended Consequences: Pro-Handgun Experts Prove That Handguns Are a Dangerous Choice for Self-Defense." http://www.vpc.or....
CCW permit holders don't protect innocent people. They kill them.
