Ruben van Schalm was born in Rotterdam (1988) he grew up with his family in Hellevoetsluis, a small village in the Netherlands.
He moved to Amsterdam and started working for TV productions and photographers.

He has his focus on both being a model as working in fashion. In 2008 he worked with Erwin Olaf for the project 'Fall'.

Now Ruben is working with different photographers to work and extend his portfolio. After that he wants to travel to New York to work as a full-time fashion model. Doing that he keeps following his dreams.
