The knee is legal and mma (ufc rules), but the elbow is not. The elbow is called 12-6 elbow, as it goes from 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock. Other elbow strikes are legal.

i suffer from the same shoulder injury, so i know what it's like, but man, getting caught in such a sloppy triangle is just terrible ground game.. Even a new whitebelt in jiu-jitsu would have defended that triangle. It wasn't even proper applied.

Even though the choke is much tighter, with arms across, it's still very effective. Infact, you can choke him, without even locking it properly, but just by pulling in the head.

I was just about to type that. If the opponent knows what to do, or he just have a slight clue about the take down, you will indeed end up tapping in a guillotine. Unless your timing and execute is absolutely perfect.

Trixi is a really good player. His gladiator play rocks, but this is not really "outplaying", as he was lucky not to get killed.
