of course the dog is in avoidance. I am a positive reinforcement trainer, I even +R with food for food aggression and it works. BUT you should not get so far off life that your dog is not allowed to go through a conflicting situation and learn from it. Of course you could do this differently, but...

Actually, this video made me look closer at Millan whom I considered a really really bad specimen of "dog trainer". When I saw these absolutely unemotional kicks it clicked. Since then I have dilligently watched about 40 episodes, concentrated on movements and facial doggy expression.
