About this user
My name is Ronnie Allen.
I host radio interview shows for a website called "Jersey Girls Sing!", which was created and is maintained by Denise Ferri and Bernadette Carroll. Some of the people I have recently interviewed include Bobby Vee, Duane Eddy, Kathy Young, Ronnie Dove, Gary Lewis, Carl Gardner of the Coasters, Dee Dee Phelps of Dick and Dee Dee, Jimmie Rodgers, and the Chordettes (Lynn Evans and Margie Needham).
To visit my Radio Page and listen to any of my radio shows on demand, please use the URL provided here for "Jersey Girls Sing!" and then, when the home page comes up, scroll to the bottom and click on "Ronnie's Radio Page."
Here's some info about the two "Jersey Girls," whose images are all over the website!
Denise Ferri was one of the East Coast Delicates, the group who recorded the legendary "Black and White Thunderbird"; the other two Delicates were Arleen Lanzotti and Peggy Santiglia. The Delicates were "Murray the K's Dancing Girls"; they were regulars on his "Swingin' Soiree" radio show on 1010-WINS (New York City), wrote most of Murray's theme songs and appeared with Murray and Clay Cole on their stage shows.
Bernadette Carroll had the national hit called "Party Girl." In the late 60s she was the lead singer of the Angels on several RCA recordings.
Denise and Bernadette, along with Peggy, backed up Lou Christie on his #1 smash "Lightning Strikes," "Rhapsody In The Rain" and many other recordings; they also did backups for Frankie Valli, Patty Duke, Rick Randell and many others.
