About Me:
My Group was known as the 'Ronnie Ryan Beal Showtime made up with myself on Organ and Keyboards, my wife Shirley group compere also providing percussions and vocals alongside our very own top cabaret artistes 'Maurice Sayer and Billy Mac. In early times our group had Mike Marshall on Drums, Rod on lead guitar, Steve Tracy vocalist and guitarist and Paul on Sax and trumpet.. Our entertainment always provided brilliant sing-a-long audience participation, with our music widely ranging from country to rock 'n roll, our band had an immense following of talented artistes which often included most of Plymouths top musicians and group entertainers always willing to step up and perform on our shows. Robbie Hart of the ( Hartbeat Entertainments Agency) was my agent and good friend and arranged some of our work for us. My early playing consisted much of playing in the local Night Clubs and working with my very own dance band. I particularly remember my very early gigs working the Pussy Cat Strip Club, The Majestic, The Safari Club, The Victoria Club,The Forum, The Princess Ballroom,The Embassy Sports and Social Club and many others including not least The Merricourt Variety Club, all have significant memories for me and I made many friends back then with like minded musicians and artistes. Throughout the years we put on many shows for charity and In 1979 we arranged a huge charity concert at the Plymouth Guildhall having an audience in excess of well over 800 and raising £1100 on the night for Plymouth Hospital and in 1986 making an appearance on Westward Television. .... 1984 to 1987 Shirl and I ran our own quite successful photography business ' R&S Studios but come the end it became difficult combining so many hours with our music .. .** I was born in Plymouth UK and before finishing my education I was honoured with an incredible award for music at the Plymouth Guildhall. The presentation back then was by the Rt. Hon. Frederick John Stott 'Lord Mayor of Plymouth for my unheard of contribution in music to my school whereby during absences in the morning assemblies of Mr Roberts our music teacher, I was invited by the Head Master to play the hymns on piano..I can still even now remember the incredible feeling of pride. I studied at the 'Arthur Stoyle Academy of Music and later made music my sole career until recently, for health reasons I retired early from the live music circuit.
