About Me:
----------------------
I use the Hauppauge HD PVR to record my videos and Sony Vegas Pro 9 to edit.
My set up for recording is as follows:
-From my xbox I run into a component distribution amp.
-From there I run one set of cables to my tv and another set to the PVR.
Even though the Hauppauge has a pass-through I really don't trust those things. For one if it goes down in the middle of a game then you're screwed. Second I want to make sure I have an equal video signal going to both the tv and pvr.
For people that use a Dazzle, or any other composite recorder, it's best to use an RCA distribution amplifier. Using y-splitters only cuts the video signal in half so half goes to the tv and the other half goes to the recorder.
Anyways, hope this helps and if any questions don't be afraid to ask.
