This was absolutely the best number of season 3. Season 2 had several outstanding tunes including Apologize , Soul Sista, and If I were a Boy, but none had "push" of this Queen Medley. Of course the Aires were not going to win for many of the reasons already listed.

...and the gift of song came so easy to her. This was an effortless performace because she had the range and style to sell this, the best performance ever of The Star Spangled Banner. I feel fortunate to have seen it when it happened.

This is a bowfin, one of the last of the ancient fish. Yes, it has a big set of sharp teeth. Notice the paddle tail. They have tournaments in the rivers of North Carolina (near the sound) to catch the largest. They are a trash type fish and the meat is much like carp, not very good.
