Again well played, but less impressive then the previous three movements. A pity about the forced (harsh) note at 3:49 and some nonuniform and inconsistent bowing at the unisons near 4:32 and around 6:10...6:30. But overall a fantastic, mature and very enjoyable performance. Bravissimo!!

Beautiful and relaxed playing with excellent legatos. The cello is a little too dominant after his solo though (1:19), in my opinion, not allowing the violin to shine through with his. Excellent pizzicatos. Very enjoyable performance again, like the first two movements.

Very well played -- even better than their 1st movement. Real chamber music playing! What I like here is their economy of bow & general bow control, particularly in the staccatos that are well pointed yet still sound full and together. Pianist has a better run here (though still hitting wrong not...

Good performance; perhaps in a little too heavy in places. But cardinal sin to put pianist with her back to the cellist -- so much for chamber music making! Why?!

Precise and well synchronized playing, but lacks the depth, expression and drama needed in this Romantic piece -- especially near 6:50 and 8:10 it is particularly lacklustre.

Not too slow, but definitely lacklustre; it needs more pathos in this heartbreakingly sad piece. Probably the big concert hall venue does not help to create the right atmosphere. Don't know why it all went going around 4:10... 4:20; wrong notes, wrong rythm...

Class players and a very neat performance, if only a little too fast and sunny to do justice to the gravity of this g minor work, in my opinion -- particularly noticeable in the opening bars and around 3:10. But the spiccato near 5:20 is excellently synchronized. One of the towering works in cham...

Good effort. Lots of body movement which unfortunately does not translate into the much needed more firey approach. Rythms of piano playing seem a little too free and violin part could do with a bit more bit. Passage at 9:30 is exceptionally well played.

I agree that the music of both trios is heavenly, and some of the greatest works written by Saint-Saens, indeed in the piano trio literature altogether. But the performance is disappointingly meek, exact and choppy -- except for some rarewith a style more atone with Haydn or Mozart. This is suppo...
As much as I enjoy listening to this composer, it is clear why he (and others) have stayed in the shadow of Beethoven. Ries's style sound similar to Hummel and others: virtuosity and belcanto for piano, but no real advancement over the Classical composers. Chopin also followed in the same footste...
