Dr. Andrew Snelling - Scientific Evidence for Young Earth RMCF is privileged to have Dr. Andrew Snelling from Answers in Genesis as its July, 2008 speaker. Dr. Andrew Snelling, one of the world's most respected Creation Scientists specializing in geological studies, joined Answers in Genesis in 2007 as the organization's new director of research, and also as a speaker for layperson and technical audiences. The addition of Dr. Snelling has further confirmed AiG's effort to meet the highest standards in its research in Creation studies. Dr. Snelling, who spent considerable time serving as a consultant in developing the AiG Creation Museum's large flood-geology room, becomes AiG's first full-time Ph.D. in the field of geology. Dr. Snelling earned his PhD degree in geology from the University of Sydney in Australia. Dr. Snelling has extensive experience working in the mining industry in Australia. One of his main areas of research has been the study of methods used in dating rocks, a key area of research for groups like AiG, which are convinced of a young age for the earth. Snelling's research, for example, has shown different radioisotope dates on the same rock samples. In addition, Dr. Snelling's research has indicated that radioactive decay rates must not have been constant in the past, citing the halos in rock crystals, which clearly show radioactive decay was accelerated sometime in the past. Dr. Snelling's research has demonstrated that a global flood more than 4,300 years ago explains most rock layers and fossil deposits found around the world. Building from this foundation, Dr. Snelling has made predictions as to what should be found if a catastrophic global flood actually happened (e.g., the existence of extensive rock layers). Dr. Snelling will be speaking twice on Friday evening. His first talk is titled Radiohalos: Evidence of Accelerated Decay and Catastrophic Geological Processes. Radiohalos are rings of color formed around microscopic bits of radioactive minerals in rock crystals. They are fossil evidence of radioactive decay. "Squashed" Polonium-210 radiohalos indicate that Jurassic, Triassic, and Eocene formations in the Colorado plateau were deposited within months of one another, not hundreds of millions of years apart as required by the conventional time scale. His second talk is titled Radioisotope Dating of Rocks: Challenging an Icon of Evolutionary Geology. Radioisotope dating has been used by the evolutions as the cornerstone of an old earth age and evolutionary theory. Not so says Dr. Snelling. The Ultimate Proof of Creation - Dr. Jason Lisle On Friday, April 10th, 2009 Rocky Mountain Creation Fellowship welcomed Dr. Jason Lisle from Answers in Genesis (http://AnswersInGenesis.org) . Jason has been a long time member of RMCF and has spoken here while he was pursuing his Ph.D. at CU in Boulder. Most practicing astronomers and astrophysicists believe in the big bang, a billions-of-years-old universe and other evolutionary ideas. But based on Scripture and the best interpretation of the scientific evidence, they are simply wrong, according to Dr. Jason Lisle. He is an astrophysicist with a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Dr. Lisle is now helping AiG (and the creation movement as a whole) refute the evolutionary account of origins—using his strong science background. He also has designed exciting planetarium programs for the Creation Museum (http://CreationMuseum.org ) in Northern Kentucky (near Cincinnati, Ohio). Now residing in Northern Kentucky, Dr. Lisle lives just a few miles from the border of his state of birth, Ohio. He grew up in a Christian home, and because his family believed in the authority and accuracy of the Bible, he had little difficulty in dealing with the evolutionary bombardment he received in school. At the university level, Jason discovered that an important element in scientific study and the drawing of conclusions was this: that scientists usually are not aware of their presuppositions (i.e. they interpret scientific evidence in light of their existing worldview). It thus made it easier for him to see that intelligent scientists, many who were his professors, can disagree on what the evidence really means, for they have different starting points. So as he read creation materials, he could see that when the evidence was properly interpreted, it always supported the biblical account of creation (even with the thorny question of starlight and time). In graduate school, Dr. Lisle developed a passion to share the message that God's Word is true from the very first verse. He began giving talks encouraging people to trust in the Bible and not compromise with the secular ideas of millions of years of evolution. Dr. Lisle has always had a keen interest in science and enjoys reading books on a wide range of scientific topics. Astronomy and physics have been areas of special interest. One of his favorite hobbies is viewing the beautiful night sky through a telescope. In graduate school, Dr. Lisle specialized in solar astrophysics. His areas of interest in creation studies are in developing models of cosmology and stellar aging. Creationist thinking in these areas is still very preliminary. Male Reproductive System - Dr. Randy Guliuzza On Friday, Oct 13th, 2006, Rocky Mountain Creation Fellowship was privileged to have as it's monthly speaker. Dr. Randy Guliuzza. Dr. Guliuzza received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota and his Masters in Public Health from Harvard University. He holds a B.S. in engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and a B.A. in theology from Moody Bible Institute. Dr. Guliuzza spoke twice that Friday night, his talk being in two parts. His first topic was The Reproductive System: Fascinating Evidence for Design-Part I (Dad's Role). This presentation will cover rarely discussed details of human reproduction that form irrefutable arguments for a supernaturally designed system. All topics were covered in a tasteful manner and there was no discussion of external anatomy. Rather, the listener is put into the seat of a typical medical student taking in the detailed--though thoroughly explained--process of reproductive physiology and microscopic anatomy. Quotations directly from medical texts guided the lecture through topics such as: (1) the process of sperm formation and design features to protect them from auto-destruction, (2) how random genetic mutations could never produce the intricate, coordinated physiology necessary for fertilization and (3) how the lethal diseases that result when mistakes occur in the process. In the second portion of his talk, Dr. Guliuzza spoke on The Reproductive System: Fascinating Evidence for Design-Part II (Mom's Role). Topics will include (1) how mother's immune system is controlled by the baby to prevent its own rejection, (2) how random genetic mutations could never produce the intricate, coordinated physiology necessary for fertilization and (3) how baby's hormones maintain pregnancy, control maternal metabolism and prime the mother for partuition. The content of both talks is strictly scientific, but the inescapable conclusions give God all the glory, showing that we are truly fearfully and wonderfully made. These two topics by Dr Guliuzza should interest many of our RMCF members and give us another chance to study the intricate mechanism of the human reproductive system.

Derivation of Force of Gravity from Electrodynamic Force Law Dr. Bill Lucas from Common Sense Science (CSS - http://www.commonsensescience.org) spoke at Rocky Mountain Creation Fellowship on November 10th, 2006. Dr. Lucas earned his doctorate in Theoretical Physics from The College of William and Mary at Williamsburg, Virginia, and then performed post-graduate research on elementary particles at the College. He did post doctoral research in physics at Catholic and American Universities in Washington. He derived the Electrodynamics Force Law used to calculate forces between particles. He refined the Ring Model to include the concept of split charge-fibers that explains all the elementary particles of the Standard Model with a classical electrodynamics approach. Bill is a frequent speaker at science conferences and has been featured in many programs by Cornerstone TV on a syndicated program titled Origins. His presentation is on the Derivation of the Force of Gravity from the Universal Electrodynamic Force Law. Here, Bill explains and gives experimental data in support of his theory of gravity that explains the creation, the flood and the division of the continents. The PowerPoint presentation for both of these talks contains a classified map of the ocean bottom. Bill uses the Universal Force Law to derive his theory of gravity and to also explain the six day Creation. This law explains all the forces needed in nature and he will also discuss how Radio Halos can date the age of the earth. Don't miss this one folks. Natural Limits to Biological Change (Creation/Evolution) Our featured speaker on Creation Weekend (Sept 10, 2010) was Dr. Raymond G. Bohlin, a well-known speaker and author, who is President of Probe Ministries. Dr. Bohlin was born and raised in Chicago, IL and is a graduate of the University of Illinois (B.S., zoology, 1971-1975), the University of North Texas (M.S., population genetics, 1977-1980), and the University of Texas at Dallas (M.S., Ph.D., molecular and cell biology, 1984-1991). Dr. Bohlin has many articles and publications, ranging from molecular biology to Christian apologetics, such as stem cell research and the ethics of human cloning. His 1991 PhD. thesis was titled: "Complementation of a Defect in Complex I of the Electron Transport Chain by DNA-mediated Gene Transfer." He has as lectured and debated on dozens of college and university campuses, where he has addressed issues in the creation/evolution debate as well as other science-related issues such as the environment, genetic engineering, medical ethics, and sexually transmitted diseases. His September topic will be "Natural Limits to Biological Change". Dr. Bohlin and his wife Sue, an associate speaker and Webmistress for Probe Ministries as well as a professional calligrapher and Christian speaker, live in Plano, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, and they have two grown sons. The Evidence Cries Out for Creation - Bill Browning Presented at Rocky Mountain Creation Fellowship (http://YoungEarth.Org) April 13th, 2007 Bill was educated at SMU where he earned a Master of Science degree in Engineering, followed by post-graduate work at UCLA at the Engineering Executive Program. He retired from the Hughes Aircraft Company after a 31-year career in space technology, and attended the ICR Graduate School in El Cajon, California, with 13 hours of graduate courses in geology, astronomy, paleontology, and advanced concepts in creationism. He is a member of the Creation Research Society, and he conducts workshops for Christian schools and home schoolers, at Christian camps, and at various speaking engagements around the Rocky Mountain area. Russ Miller is a degreed businessman who spent 18 years developing a successful nationwide firm. A church Trustee and theistic evolutionist at the time, due to our secular education system which only presents one choice of our origins, he was introduced to the scientific facts. Russ states, "I'm a General Manager. I make logical decisions based on facts. When I saw that not one branch of modern science has a shred of real evidence for Darwinism, yet it's taught as fact in schools, I thought, this is ridiculous." Darwin & Decline of the Bible - Dr. G. Thomas Sharp For the January 14, 2011 meeting, RMCF was privileged to host G. Thomas Sharp, founder of Creation Truth Foundation. Dr. Sharp has achieved national and international recognition as a Christian educator, religious leader, businessman and author. The Best of Creation - Fred Williams Fred's talk is titled The Best of Creation. With the wide assortment of topics and slides he has accumulated over the years, he thought this was a good opportunity to condense these into a "Best of..." presentation for our group. This will include everything from a look at God's wondrous works, to common evolution arguments and the illusion behind them, to dinosaurs and the age of the earth. Fred will also share some of his "war" stories over the years of debating and confronting evolutionists. Fred has been giving talks on creation for over 14 years to churches, schools, conferences, and other organizations, and is also the co-host with Bob Enyart on the "Real Science Friday" (archives - http://www.RealScienceFriday.com ) program that airs bi-monthly at 3:00pm on the 50,000-watt AM 670 KLTT ( http://www.670kltt.com/ ). Power of Creation Evangelism - Pete Fiske RMCF was privileged to have as our May 11, 2007 speaker, Mr. Pete Fiske. Pete Fiske has a BSc. in mechanical engineering and has worked in the shipbuilding and computer consulting industries. Pete Fiske is a former agnostic who attributes his former skepticism about Christianity to a belief in evolutionism that was dogmatically taught to him as a child in the tax-funded public schools. While still an agnostic in college in the mid 1980s, Mr. Fiske began to realize that there were many inherent weaknesses in the Darwinian arguments being that were being presented. He began an intensive 20 year personal search for the truth on the origins issue by objectively examining all of the available scientific evidence. The more he examined the evidence the more shaken his faith in Darwinism became. Pete's talk is titled, The Power of Creation Evangelism. There was a time in America not so long ago when people could leave their doors unlocked when they went somewhere,; even leave their keys in their cars without much of any worry of having someone take off with their car. Nowadays no one in their right mind would consider doing these things yet there was once-upon-a-time in this nation when people didn't worry about dishonesty and grand larceny! In the last 40 years our nation has seen a significant paradigm shift in terms of the core values and beliefs of our culture. At one time, God, the Bible, and the Ten Commandments were revered, even by non-believers. Not long ago, traditional methods of evangelism were quite effective in bringing the lost to salvation in Christ, but our nation has become ever more evolutionized. Traditional methods of evangelism have become increasingly ineffective as new generation of young people have become ever-more hardened to the message of the Gospel as now two generations have gone through a public educational system that teaches Charles Darwin's 19th century materialistic creation story as science. This is why the Church needs to look at new ways of evangelism if they hope to reach this evolutionized culture for Christ. Creation Evangelism shares the entire message of the Gospel, building its foundation on the truth of scripture from the very first verses of Genesis. Cloning, Stem Cells and the Bible - Mike Riddle Mike's talk is titled: Cloning, Stem Cells and the Bible. This lecture explains the concepts of cloning and what has gone wrong. It discusses the difference between the two types of stem cells and current research. The lecture finishes by showing that the Bible and the scientific evidence confirm life begins at conception. Plant Power! - Dr. Gary Parker Rocky Mountain Creation Fellowship was privileged to have as our December 1, 2006 speaker, Dr. Gary Parker. The title of Dr. Parker's talk was "Plant Power! Capitalizing on Chaos." Plants are stunning evidence of Creation and Dr. Parker will show us why in his presentation. The random motion of water molecules, under correct direction and in a properly designed system, can be converted to direct motion. Hence we get water moving in plants and even up the tall Redwoods. Dr. Parker is a Professor of Biology at the Institute for Creation Research (http://www.ICR.Org) and an internationally renowned speaker on creation. He is also a speaker for Answers in Genesis (http://www.AnswersInGenesis.Org). Once an atheist who taught evolution to his biology students, he was very critical of Christians who compromised by denying a literal reading of Genesis. By doing this he had hoped to convert them to evolution. But they turned the tables on him. Now as a Christian, he still is critical of those who compromise the Bible, but he now uses his knowledge of evolution to show how scientific facts have failed to support the theories put forth by evolutionists. Parker was previously the head of the Science Department at Clearwater Christian College (CCC) in Florida. He also served for twelve years on the science faculty of the Institute for Creation Research (ICR) in the San Diego area. Dr. Parker has worked with Ken Ham, founder and Executive Director of AIG, at some of the well-attended Answers in Genesis seminars. He has also conducted citywide Understanding Genesis conferences. Gary was also co-presenter with Ken Ham in the popular video series, Answers in Genesis. He has appeared in numerous films and television programs and has lectured worldwide on creation. His most recent books are Exploring the World Around Us and The Fossils Book. Dr. Parker and his wife Mary are currently hosting a Creation Adventure Museum near Arcadia, Florida. Slaughter of the Dissidents - Dr. Jerry Bergman Rocky Mountain Creation Fellowship was privileged to have as our June 2010 speaker Dr. Jerry Bergman. Dr. Bergman is a graduate of the Medical College of Ohio, Wayne State University, The University of Toledo, and Bowling Green State University. Dr. Bergman has also completed 40 graduate hours in the department of chemistry at Miami University in Oxford Ohio, and has studied geology, philosophy, nutrition, and chemistry at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. So far he has earned 9 degrees! Lucy, She's No Lady! - Dr. David Menton Rocky Mountain Creation Fellowship was privileged to have back as our April 11, 2008 speaker, Dr. David Menton from Answers in Genesis (http://AnswersinGenesis.org). Although he has impressive academic credentials, Dr. Menton is nevertheless able to communicate the truths of Creation effectively to many age ranges. Dr. Menton was the professor of anatomy at Washington University in St. Louis. He has joined AIG as a full time speaker and also contribute articles to AiG's Answers magazine. Accelerated Radioactive Decay Rates - Dr. Edward Boudreaux On July 14th, 2006, RMCF was privileged to have as its' monthly speaker, Dr. Edward Boudreaux. The title of Dr. Boudreaux's talk was Accelerated Radioactive Decay Rates. [Dr. Boudreaux is now the President of RMCF. Dr. Boudreaux was a Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Physics for 29 years at the University of New Orleans. He retired Prof. Emeritus in 1991. He has numerous publications in refereed scientific journals, and has made contributions to both books and reviews. Dr. Boudreaux has made presentations at conferences and seminars both nationally and internationally. Dr. Boudreaux has been invited to many Creation Science presentations and both TV and radio appearances. He has had presentations and publications at two International Creation Conferences. One of the major factors confronting the Creation/Evolution issue is radiometric dating. This is the process whereby a rock or fossil containing a radioactive chemical element, such as- uranium (U-238, U-235), thorium ( Th-232 ), potassium (K-40 ) , etc., has its' decay time called the "half-life " (a presumed constant process), measured. Based upon certain assumptions regarding the original amount of the decaying element vs. the final decay product, the measured time lapse is regarded to be a quantitative evaluation of the original time when the rock (or fossil) was first formed. The problem is that the presumed constant half - lives for the decay processes are in billions of years, while the biblical time frame for all creation is only some 6,000-7,000 years. The only reasonable answer to this problem is that there must have been a time period when the radioactive decay rates were very fast. Dr. Boudreaux has been working on this problem for some 5 years and is able to provide a reasonable, scientifically sound model for accelerated radioactive decay rates. He presented the details of his findings, along with a application of the Bergman-Lucas toroidal model for electrons and protons, to the nuclear structure and decay rate of K-40. Millions of Years - The Idea's Origin & Impact on the Church Dr. Mortenson's talk is titled: Millions of Years: the Idea's Origin and Impact on the Church. Where did the Church's belief in millions of years come from? This historical survey will explain how the idea of millions of years became dominant in geology and the resulting catastrophic damage to the Church and to the proclamation of the gospel. It is a sad state of affairs that most Christian churches today accept millions of years that is taught by man and refuse to believe in the thousands of years as taught by Scripture. Dr. Terry Mortenson from Answers in Genesis ( http://www.AnswersInGenesis.org ), Like most people, grew up in an education system that taught evolution as fact. During his first year in university and shortly after becoming a Christian, he began to see the fallacy of the idea of billions of years of evolution. With a Ph.D. in the history of geology from the University of Coventry in England, Dr Mortenson has been studying and speaking on the creation-evolution controversy throughout North America and Europe since the late 1970s. He also holds a Masters of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Mortenson is now a full time speaker and research scientist for AIG. Much of his M.Div. studies focused on various (Biblical, historical and philosophical) aspects of this subject. His Ph.D. thesis analyzed the origins of old-earth geology in the early 19th century and particularly the writings of the 'scriptural geologists', a group of scientists and non-scientists who wrote Biblical, geological and philosophical arguments against these budding old-earth theories. Through study and personal interaction he has been exposed to the many different Christian and non-Christian responses to this controversy. All of this study and teaching has deepened his conviction of the literal truth and foundational importance of Genesis 1--11.

Hard Questions for Evolutionists - Dr. Carl Baugh On May 13, 2011, RMCF was pleased to have Dr. Carl Baugh, Founder and Director of Creation Evidence Museum in Glen Rose Texas speak on the subject "Hard Questions for Evolutionists." More than thirty years of Dr. Baugh's life have been spent researching the atmospheric conditions before the Genesis Flood, and he is Research Director for the world's first Hyperbaric Biosphere. He serves as Discoverer and Excavation Director of fourteen dinosaurs, including Acrocanthosaurus in Texas and Diplodocus in Colorado. Dr. Baugh is also co-discoverer and co-excavator of a unique South American ammonite that has not been described in the technical literature. He has led three scientific expeditions into the rain forests of Papua New Guinea in search of living pterodactyls. He will share with us some interesting recent data on human/dinosaur footprints. Dr. Baugh's Degrees include: Doctor of Theology (2005, Louisiana Baptist University), Doctor of Philosophy in Education (1989, Pacific College of Graduate Studies), Masters in Archaeology (1984, Pacific College of Graduate Studies), Bachelor of Arts (1961, Burton College), and Graduate of Theology (1959, Baptist Bible College, Valedictorian).
