the hetero's and the homo's who are posting on here ALL sound stupid. The only reason same gender partners arent eligible for social security is because if anyone could claim a dead "partner" and get paid for it too many people would abuse the system...For instance, if I had a friend/ roomate for a long enough period of time, he could die, and I could collect pension for it...pretty soon EVERYONE will be getting social security money for somones death and there is no way to regulate it; as long as you both agree your in a "relasionship" ... besides our social security system is so screwed right now anyway, none of us will see a dime of it by the time were sixty anyway, gay or straight...
