Thanks for subbing, nice videos too! :) actually, the blackmagic is often cheaper than the pvr @£115 , but the prices vary. you're right about the high-end PC though... your laptop probably should be able to handle the PVR as it compresses the video in the box instead of in your pc (unlike the BM). This means that the quality isn't quite as good, but you won't notice the difference for youtube. The PVR only has component (and digital audio and composite) connections, so it can't output HDMI.. BUTTT you can get a component -> HDMI adaptor which i think cost around £30. Lol i don't even have either of the capture cards ive just spent AGES researching stuff about them :P overall, i would say yes to the PVR. if your laptop doesn't like it, you can just return it to Amazon or wherever you buy it from. what are you using to record your gameplays atm?

Backing up okram (i know him irl), the BlackMagic used HDMI as well as component and even composite cables. However, due to a shitty thing called HDCP (google it), you can't record PS3 using HDMI as the games are on Blu-Ray disks and they're what the HDCP is protecting. Buttttt (im not 100% sure on this), i think you can set the BlackMagic up so that it takes a component input from the PS3 (not HDCP protected) and outputs it through HDMI, which will work with your PC monitor.
