About Me:
His early influences are mostly from Mike Varneys Shrapnel stable. He incorporated a lot of the arpeggios ideas from these players but also extended his own two hand tapping style. His style has also be heavily influenced by listening to piano and keyboard arpeggio constructs.
This includes: Tony MacAlpine, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Richie Kotzen, Vinnie Moore, Steve Lukather, Greg Howe, Jason Becker, Nuno Bettencourt, Brett Garsed, Yngwie Malmsteen, Joey Tafolla, Fredrick Chopin, JS Bach, Nicolo Paganini, Allan Holdsworth, Andy Timmons, Stephen Ross, Todd Duane, Scott Mishoe, Darren Housholder, Paul Gilbert, George Lynch, Dann Huff and Mike Landau.
He has been playing as a professional musician for 15 years now. He tours with a professional Dutch coverband, does session work for Dutch artists and gives guitar clinics
He came to my attention when he won a prized U.S.A. Guitar Award.
Also his playing on the particularly fine tribute to Dimebag. The tribute features Chris Brooks.
Robbert Hanenberg is one those few guitarists who can combine a great awesome flawless technique with great melodic and emotional playing. I really love his vibrato too.
In Oct. 2010 he was selected over more than 200 guitarists to act for Steve Vai.
Currently he works primarily as a session guitarist.
