ran out of room there, sorry. yeah the tortoise shell binding disintegrates over time. i know they are on the older models. but i dunno if a 76 has the plastic binding. which is a better option. there were only 3900 made between 73 and 79. which makes em kinda rare. if you want the neil young harvest tone dont waste yer time and money on a martin. this beats em hands down!!! i toured both of mine. and all i used was a vocal mic in front of it and later a transducer( dean markley gold)to get in to tap. and it knocked the balls off everything else soundwise!!!!!!!!!! id go no further than 1500$ though. about a grand in your money ;) and dont go through customs in heathrow either!!!!! fuckers.......
