"On Friday, June 13, NBC Washington Bureau Chief Tim Russert died. Russert, 58, had hosted "Meet the Press" since December 1991 and was with NBC News since 1984. In 2008, Time Magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world."
Quote from Newsvine.com

Tim Russert was one of my favorite newsmen of this generation. A journalist with class, yet humble as his early years had shaped him to be. Hard-hitting but fair in asking the tough questions in an interview. Friendly and personable with that big grin, but he could also give that disarming gaze that said "Tell me the truth."

A zest for politics, for news, for people, for LIFE. Rest in Peace, Tim Russert. You are missed.

Thought of Tim's family especially his wife Maureen, son Luke and his dad Big Russ on Saturday, June 13, 2009 the one year anniversary of Tim leaving us. I am doing grassroots work on amending the CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 aka the lead law) and wonder what Tim's take on it would have been. His is a voice that is still greatly missed. I am going to update the channel here. Thanks Chiffon56- I will gladly add Keith's tribute to Tim and please, if anyone else has any recommendations on video adds, please let me know. Best to catch me on Twitter at twitter.com/cpsia

Also check out youtube/handcraftivist and youtube/cpsia (building)- videos on the CPSIA lead law-

Let's protect children AND the people who rely on income from small business. Let's amend the CPSIA into a common sense law.

Has it only been a year since Tim died? I still, sure do, miss him. I hope you saw tonight's "Countdown". If you didn't get to see Keith's tribute to Tim, it's featured on my channel. Long live Tim... in our hearts and in our minds. His legacy will last forever.

Man in times like this with news cycles going crazy with so much going on I miss Tim and his voice. He was one of the few journalist I actually trusted. The coverage is not the same without him and is lacking the objectivity he brought to the table. He sure earned the respect of viewers and his colleagues and that is rare these days.

There were so many times during the election this fall when I thought "Tim would have loved this." McCain's surprise choice of Sarah Palin- Tim would have had fun with all the down home Alaska stuff, but he would have asked the hard questions too. Tim would have been the one with the MUST SEE Sarah Palin interview. I wonder if he ever met her? And Obama's historic win- Tim would have been bouncing off the walls! He should have been here. :(

Too bad Tim wasn't here to be a part of tonight's historic election. He would have loved it, wouldn't he? Of course... wherever he was tonight, I'm sure he was watching... and enjoying every minute of it!

Another Sunday goes by, without hearing Tim's voice. Will we ever get used to it? Probably not. We still miss you, Tim. Saw Luke on MSNBC today... he has your charm and winning smile. I'm guessing that we'll grow to love him, as well. But no one will ever take your place. Man... we'll miss you at the conventions this year! And how about that Biden?... he finally made it onto a ticket. Yeah!!!

So right, Chiffon56. Tim is missed more and more. I can't imagine the upcoming Republican and Democratic Conventions without Tim giving his insight. What a huge hole there is. And bless Tom Brokaw. He is trying and I believe he is the only one who could do Meet the Press right now, but it is so sad. Especially knowing how close he and Tim were. I feel like cheering Tom on as he is doing the show.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I believe of the things I have done on YouTube in the past year, this channel dedicated to Tim Russert has had the most impact on me personally along side my channels focusing on drunk driving and the tragedy that can and does result (youtube/ncproud2 and youtube/ncproud- focusing on the drunk driving accident of Winston-Salem news anchor Tolly Carr and dedicated to Casey Bokhoven, age 26 who was killed in that incident 3-11-2007).

"Meet the Press" just isn't the same without Tim... Brokaw tries, but... no one will ever replace our dear friend. RIP, Tim. But know that we still miss you.
