김장훈이 소나기이후 4년만에 신곡으로 돌아왔다.
12금 프로젝트와 19금 프로젝트로 진행되는 총 기획 중에 첫 번째 발표이다.
9월부터 12월까지 진행되는 12금 프로젝트는 디지털 신곡 세 곡을 각기 다른 아이돌 가수들과의 콜라보레이션으로 순차적으로 발표하고,
내년 봄에 나올 19금 프로젝트는 싸이, 유희열, 윤종신, 김태원 등 당대 최고의 작곡가 열명과 함께하는 정규앨범으로 진행된다.
6개월 간의 기획 중, 그 첫 번째 발표인 디지털 싱글 '이별 참 나답다'는 슈퍼주니어의 김희철과 함께 함으로써 파격적으로 시작한다. 피쳐링으로 김희철과 함께 한 것도 파격이지만 곡 자체도 발라드가 아닌 하우스와 오케스트라가 섞인 경쾌한 곡으로 파격을 준다.
김장훈과 김희철의 인연은 슈퍼주니어 이전부터 시작되었다. '빙글빙글랭크쑈'라는 방송프로그램에서 만난 둘은 김희철의 애창곡이 슬픈 선물과 혼잣말이라는 사실에 힘입어 격이 없이 친해졌다.
그 후 김희철은 방송 때마다 김장훈의 모창을 했고 결국 그 모창이 둘의 듀엣으로 발전하는 계기가 되었다.
이번에 신곡을 발표하면서 김장훈은 '이번 곡 발표에서 목표 중 하나는, 단순히 김희철과 친해서 함께 하는 작업이 아닌 김희철의 숨겨진 가창력과 매력을 사람들에게 전하고 싶다'라고 자신감을 피력했다.
실제로 처음 시작단계에서는 김희철의 분량을 20%정도로 기획했다가 노래를 듣고는 40%정도로 발전시켰으며 김장훈이 내는 고음을 무리 없이 소화해서 주위사람들을 놀라게 했다.
김희철 또한 훈련소 입소 전날 녹음과 뮤직비디오를 촬영했고, 그의 트위터를 통해 '장훈형이 내게 20대의 마지막 선물을 줬습니다.'라고 감사의 인사를 전했다.
데뷔 21년째인 김장훈과 데뷔 7년차의 아이돌 김희철의 만남.
단지 이벤트가 아닌 음악으로 승부하겠다는 김장훈의 의지가 어떤 결과를 낼지 궁금하다.
