Ride for Smiles will be a motorcycle adventure from Byron Bay Australia through Africa in 2011. I will personally distribute football equipment and donations raised via this website to kids in conjunction with Link Ethiopia, a local accredited charity.I aim to make a small difference to kids who love to play football as I ride through their country
I also hope raise awareness and donations for Riders for Health. In Africa millions of people are dying from easily-preventable diseases because health workers do not have the reliable transport to reach them. By ensuring health workers have access to vehicles that never break down Riders for Health is making sure millions of people across Africa receive regular, reliable health care, often for the first time in their lives. Riders for Health was formed originally by one of my favourite Grand Prix racers Randy Momola in Somalia when he came across a bike with only 300 kilometres on it and cast aside as noone had the technical expertise to fix donated equipment. Part of Riders for Health give's that training to local people.
