Minor correction, Sepultura supported Sodom on their tour supporting this album, not the other way around. Sepultura at the time were promising newcomers, Sodom were a well established band.

Beautiful and inspirational song which explores the hidden depths that the original was perhaps not robust enough to explore.

Sounds like these boys might have listened to the odd Nocturnus track.

@RonnieEpe Yeah, I was a huge fan of Martin, I got into them after their first album came out. I loved "Consuming Impulse" but didn't care for "Testimony of the Ancients" at all.

Not sure why they and Martin parted ways, but I thought he was a wonderful frontman for the band.

This version is from the demo the band released prior to recording "Beyond Sanctorum".

The album version is better by a small margin, and far better than latter versions which are dominated by keyboards that seem to be all-to prevalent on YouTube.

I haven't listened to this for 20 years and find it to be as beautiful and mysterious as I remember it ...
