The movies I am posting to this site are meant to be campy, silly, fun, perhaps comedic, and certainly a fantasy. The viewer may also note that I include aspects of Erotic Death Fetish, in which killing is a metaphor for sexual activity and death is a metaphor for orgasm or sexual climax. While perhaps very odd to many, it is a theme which reoccurs through-out the history of literature, theater, and in modern times, the movies. The so-called torture-porn, seen in several recent movies, is an aspect of this fetish; however, not one that I enjoy. For me, to be erotic, it must be unrealistic, theatrical, and obviously a fantasy. Film Noir, of the 40s and 50s, when killing off female characters, would often make use of this in the actresses sensual death scenes. This is one reason I have called my site and my production company: Film Noir de la Mort.
One of the problems I personally have had in making my movies is that the sound effects are always out of sync with the video in my finished movies. I do not know why. I have visited several fan sites to seek a solution. Some players have this problem, some do not. No one could give me an answer nor a solution. I do not know if it is my particular game disks, and/or my computer. (I have created my movies on two different computers with the same problem.)
There are several hundred costumes and each costume has its own variations. (There are also several mods available; but I have had very little success with them. I no longer have any mods on my present computer.)
Once a movie has been filmed, it can be moved to Post Production for editing. Here the movie can be edited much like a real movie. Scenes made be cut up and reassembled in different order. Unnecessary parts may be cut out. Sound effects, background sounds, background music, dialogue, subtitles, etc, can be added in. I make great use of this post production.
To create a movie the player selects, one by one, the sets he will use, the scenes he will use within those sets, add in the actors, select the costumes.
There are about four dozen sets on which to film the movies, plus a stage, a blue screen, and a green screen for special effects. There are about seven hundred fifty different scenes. Not all scenes are available for every set, only those scenes which are appropriate to that set. Scenes are preset actions, performed by mannequins. Once a scene has been selected to use in the film, The Player replaces the mannequins with actors. Many of the scenes have several variations. Not all mannequins need to be replaced by an actor. If the player does not want the actions performed by a certain mannequin, that mannequin may be left blank.
Certain aspects of the game remain in this mode. The player must still build sets, do movie technology research, hire actors, and actresses, and hire other employees, build sets and studio facilities. Unless one has a cheat code, the game starts in the 1920s, (or 1950s in Sandbox Mode,) and not all sets, technology, costumes, etc are available yet. The player must reach the 1990s before all sets, costumes, technologies, etc, are available.
