The goals of this channel and blog are to enlighten people to what dogs need now to be happy companions. In order to do this, we have to understand the dog's biology, its behavior, and its evolution.

I don't fit nicely into the animal rights camp or the "let's kill 'em all" redneck camp. I'm not against breeding dogs for a purpose. If you knew how I grew up, you'd understand why I have my foot in both camps.

I have a particular interest in how the retriever breeds developed. I am also interested in the welfare of those breeds, especially golden and flat-coated retrievers, the two breeds that have stolen my heart.
