Lawrence Cassidy was an artist with a vision: he had been to Capetown in South Africa and seen how they had saved memories and souvenirs of the lost streets of the city, places that had been destroyed by regeneration and clearance. He knew that the same things were happening in his home town of Salford, and determined to preserve the memories and the memorabilia of that city, despite the ravages of the planners and re-developers. He's speaking to local people and hearing what they have to say.
