"You act like you're Dave Matthews"

That's a very poignant line some guys bring up that sometimes keeps me away from posting any more videos. But thanks to hundreds of other nice messages, responses, e-mails and other communication channels I can pick myself up and continue posting.

Where's your own material?

I think I suck, that's where it is. There some songs on my mind and I'm working on them. This June I posted 'Dream of me'...

Do you play in bars?

Recently some guys have invited me to play with them in a bar. We practiced a couple of times and we'll work on some songs. I'm planning to post some in the future.

Where exactly are you from?

Netherlands, Europe. Born in Amsterdam, Raised nearby Haarlem. Now I live in Hoofddorp.

Married, kids?

Not married. Girlfriend Tamara. No kids, 2 cats. Deef and Dokkie. Deef made some appearances in my vids (Save me, Some devil).

Martin DX1, Yamaha APX5, Squier strat (Fender), Music All in Spanish guitar (x2),

Why ReinierMatthews?

Once YouTube was a very small community in the Netherlands. No one really knew it, even I didn't. A friend of mine showed me a link to this YouTube website to see some performances/footages of a concert we've been. That's how I learned about YouTube.

I always have a problem to play guitar in front of friends. I don't want to be a show off or any and I always feel a bit burdened. But all of them, including my family and girlfriend TAMARA, would die to see some of me. I decided to upload some DMB covers on YouTube (crush and fool 2 think), so they can watch me go nuts. When YouTube asked me for a profile name during registration, I was thinking about a name the world, my friends and family would easily find (I never learned about TAGS). ReinierMatthews came up... The 'succes' of these covers where like a snowball I really never expected. Messages and requests from abroad where overwhelming... I decides tot post some more. Right now I have 42 videos and still more to come.

You definitely have an easy voice and on key. I like to reference the videos when ever I am in a jam. I'm glad you have posted the video and those how have anything bad to say are jealous and or just have nothing else to do. I welcome anything original or new artist covers to come in the future. Thanks for the great musical tribute to Dave Matthews, a great inspiration to some of us.
