About this user
Okay, I'm finally updating this after a hell of a long time. Yay, me! First of all, I love way too many things to count, so I'll try to keep the list simple. I'm sure I'll leave some very big, important ones out.
Might as well start with TV, since I've been thinking about Fringe, Doctor Who, and Supernatural since their 2011 season finales. They are all superb shows, wonderfully acted and written, with intriguing storylines, intelligent dialogue, great humor, and devastating situations. For pure humor I love The Simpsons, Modern Family, South Park, Family Guy, The Office, Futurama, and plenty more.
My favorite movie since I was a kid is The Princess Bride. I saw The Dark Knight in IMAX three times and then again when it re-released because of the psychotic brilliance of Heath Ledger. Tony Stark's mix of arrogance and heart grabbed me in Iron Man, which just so happened to be on FX as I was finishing this up. :) And Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Galaxy Quest are endlessly enjoyable.
As for music, I got hooked on Rammstein because of a random purchase of the "Lost Highway" soundtrack in the '90s, and I've been obsessed with Eisbrecher, In Extremo, Joachim Witt, and more since. Others I can't live without are Backstreet Boys (the NKOTBSB concert at TD Garden in Boston was excellent), Meat Loaf, Dave Matthews Band, and Duran Duran.
I'm a gamer, so I try to get at least a few hours in a week. It's not that easy anymore. Where does all the time go? Anyway, the games I most fondly remember would have to be the Gears of War series, the Halo series, the God of War series, Batman: Arkham Asylum, the Mass Effect series, and Ninja Gaiden. Oh, and I had an absolute blast with Portal (1 and 2) and Plants vs. Zombies.
When I can find the time I'll try to curl up, or at least fall asleep, with a fantasy or scifi novel or my favorite author Stephen King. Two of the best examples of great reading are Game of Thrones, which has turned out to be a riveting show, and The Dark Tower, which I hope will be an epic movie series.
I imagined myself as a game designer a long time ago, but that's a dream that's long since sailed. I still imagine being a bladesmith, because you can often find me drawing knives, axes, and other sharp things.
Alrighty, that should be damn well enough. If you need to know more, like what I think about the latest of anything above, you can find me at my infrequently updated blog. Now go watch some videos.
