Nicola is sitting on a bench reading a book when she is approached by Sam, an intrusive boy who strikes up an unlikely and intimate conversation with her, in which they bond awkwardly over their mutual feelings of isolation in a generation that would rather communicate via the internet than in person.

The Jews were almost demolished during the Halocaust but were not made slaves but simply placed in concentration camps. As for the Egyptians they did detain the Isrealites and forced them to more than enough labor, but they were not considered slaves for they lived along side the Egyptians since the days of Joseph, when he sent for his father and brothers to join him after he became second in command after the Pharoah, for thousands of years. Hope this clears things up some.
