Introduction
Reunion, aged 15 years, joined City of Greater Dandenong Youth Services programs in 2009 attending Jam Sessions music training program and Freeza youth events committee.
Reunion has always had a passion for music, especially hip hop. His family originates from the Cook Islands where music is a powerful way of celebrating life and culture. Reunion has a very positive influence on other young people as he easy to get along with and respects others for who they are.
Chasing the dream is Reunion's philosophy. His lyrics are about telling life stories in the local area and how young people can stay positive and try not to get caught in trouble in the streets. It's also about coping with pressures like depression, and that if you keep trying and never give up that you can succeed. It's about reaching your goals in life.
Jam Sessions
Originally Reunion started in the Jam Sessions music training program held Thursdays at The Castle in Dandenong. He instantly connected with all the young people. He showed immediate confidence on the microphone and was keen to entertain and get a positive message out about young people by using rap. Further Reunion attended music training workshops with specialist musicians to develop his technique and style.
Freeza Committee
After a while, Reunion was invited and joined the Freeza committee to develop general music industry skills by assisting to run youth events in the local area. The skills he has gained have included promotion, event mc hosting, djing, act organising, stage management, sound and lighting. This provided him with valuable experience in broadening his skills and connecting to Melbourne wide events.
Receiving recognition in the music industry
With the support of Youth Services, Reunion attending statewide music training with the youth organisation, The Push, where he got to meet industry musicians such as MC Briggs who encouraged Reunion to get further into the positive side of rap. Reunion was then selected to perform at Out Backyard mc battle where he gained a runner up placing.
Then the unimaginable happened, Reunion was directly invited to attend "Got Beef" mc battle held in Queensland. This was the biggest highlight yet as he got to meet Australia's finest rappers and perform in front of a massive audience. This provided him with a taste of been apart of a professional event and increased his connections at a national level.

Future ambition
Reunion is keen on building his career in the music industry. His goal is to be signed to a record label within the next 5 years and produce an original album. He is keen to run hip hop workshops with other young people. This has been demonstrated in the Freeza committee where he has taken a lead role with Youth services in training young people as peer leader e.g. public speaking on microphone.
His dream is to be an event host for major international hip hop acts that come to Melbourne, in the footsteps of presenters like MC Junior (club and event hype mc).
Reunion has been inspiration to other young people, especially as his willing to take time to assist others to get involved in music by learn skills and enjoying being who you are.
